Time Attendance Recorder White Paper
A computer-linked Time Attendance Recorder provides an alternative to traditional mechanical time clock systems, or paper-based timesheets.
The traditional time clock is replaced with an electronic Time Attendance Recorder and Employees 'swipe' uniquely numbered ID-Badges through the Time Attendance Recorder. This is done at the beginning and end of work periods, and normally includes swiping for rest breaks. The recorded data is regularly transferred to a PC running a Time Attendance Software application, typically at the end of a payroll period but sometimes every day. The software creates Time Sheets for all registered Employees and automatically updates them regularly with new clocking-in data transferred from the Time Recorder.
A Time Attendance Recorder protects a company from potential payroll fraud, provides secure electronic data and gives employees confidence in the accuracy & timeliness of salary payments. A Time Attendance Recorder also allows the tracking and evaluation of performance and work attendance of employees when combined with an appropriate software application.
The software application enables the storage, tracking and organisation of the most important Employee time related information in one place. Everything required to track and monitor Employee direct labour costs can be made available on a computer. The items combined make up a complete Time Attendance System.
A Time Attendance System will allow the efficient collection of working hours data that can be transferred to a Payroll System. This can save significant time previously spent manually collating and counting work hours at the end of every payroll period, allowing even more time for the business operation.
Time Attendance System prices can vary, depending on the needs of the organisation, with a small business system costing a few hundred pounds (or dollars) and larger systems supporting many complex functions costing several thousands.
